General Characteristics:

SHIELD is a high performance antiseptic, with a R.W. Coefficient of 3  4.  It is a clear brown liquid, with characteristic chloroxylenol odour and it has a minimum level of chloroxylenol 4.8% by weight. Being chloroxylenol based, SHIELD can be used for all house hold applications, where the use of an antiseptic disinfectant is warranted.  On dilution with water, it forms a dense brown emulsion at certain dilution rates.

Usage and applications:

SHIELD is strictly for external use and can generally be used for household disinfection.  It is not recommended for use in areas where food is prepared or served.
For household use : 30 ml to half a litre of water.
For lavatories, sinks and drains : 60 ml  to an equal quantity of water.
For abrasions, insect bites and cuts : Wash with dilutions of 60 ml to about a litre of water.  Can also be used undiluted, but not advisable for sensitive skins.
For midwifery  : 30 ml to a litre of water.
